2022

2022 The T.W.M.G and Tignish Elementary School Salmon Release. The students looked after the salmon again this year from the Abegweit Biodiversity Enhancement Hatchery. As a thank you for their continued help, the Tignish Watershed donated 2 pear trees to add to their growing orchard.

Each year the Tignish Watershed holds different events in order to help educate our youth and all members of our community. From an annual Watershed camp, to planting trees with Tignish Elementary students, we try to reach out as much as possible.

Each year the Tignish Elementary students look after salmon eggs provided by Abegweit Biodiversity Enhancement Hatchery. The eggs are placed in a tank provided by the Tignish Watershed Group and the students take over. When the eggs hatch and are ready to be released, a stream is picked and they are released!
