About Us
Our Goal
The Tignish Watershed Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Tignish watershed and surrounding areas in Prince Edward Island, Canada. We work towards this goal by:
- Improving water quality: Addressing issues like siltation, pollution, and excessive algae growth.
- Protecting fish habitats: Restoring and maintaining healthy habitats for fish species like brook trout.
- Promoting biodiversity: Encouraging the growth of native plants and trees to support diverse ecosystems.
- Educating the community: Raising awareness about watershed health and engaging the public in conservation efforts.
Through various initiatives, including stream restoration, tree planting, and educational programs, the Tignish Watershed Group strives to create a thriving and sustainable watershed for future generations.

Education & Community
Working together with Schools to provide awareness and enthusiasm for our watersheds and wildlife. This is an exciting part of our work, as we can engage our community youth in the importance of our ecosystem.
Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.
